2. Masquerade Party at Tithe Barn, Carlisle

Saturday 14th January from 07h30pm until midnight

Save the detox and party like it’s err… December? Seriously though, this event is a fantastic opportunity to give back to the community as ticket sales all go to local charity CRUSE which offers free bereavement counselling throughout the county.  Unfortunately this charity recently lost their funding and so need your support to keep their important services going within Cumbria.  The evening will be held at Tithe Barn in Carlisle and the masquerade theme couldn’t be more fun!  At just £25 a ticket with a free buffet provided, this is one fine and dandy excuse to carry on the party without breaking the bank post-chrimbo.

To book tickets email: masqueradepartycruse@gmail.com or contact The Sportsman Inn, Carlisle on 01228 533799

The Tithe Barn, Blackfriars Street, Carlisle, CA3 8UE  www.cruse.org.uk

3. Sing-Along Mamma Mia! at Threlkeld Village hall

Sunday 15th January 4pm until 6h30pm

Still sticking to the party theme, what’s not to love about a good sing-along session to all those fabulous Abba hits?  Another (slightly crazy) way to entertain yourself in January, not only will this get you donning your flares and platforms and warbling to the likes of Dancing Queen and Fernando but most importantly you’ll forget about the grim January cold outside as you bask in the fabulous Grecian sunshine (well imagination is everything you know).  There will be Greek-themed nibbles and a licensed bar with prosecco (woo-hoo!).  Tickets just £4 on the door – another January super-saver!

Friday 27th January 8h30pm until 11pm

And if you still need to banish January’s gloom, then book yourself a ticket to the Brewery Art Centre’s one night fun-packed comic round-up.  Sit back, relax and guffaw at the wise-cracks coming at you from the likes of Sean Percival, Brennan Reece and Hayley Ellis.
