Who is Sarah Louise I hear you ask? Well, before last Saturday I was none the wiser either. Wandering past the tourist havens of Windermere, I was immediately struck by the pretty shop window connected to The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction.
It was simply bedecked in fluffy, baby finery. Beautiful organza dresses and cute little waistcoats beckoned me in for a further nose.
Once inside, I was entranced by the downy frills adorning featherlight dresses, beautifully presented alongside decadent woollen suits and jackets for little boys. Despite the usual stock of Beatrix Potter gifts, the shop’s obvious crowd-puller was this range of little person clothing.
Designers Leonard and Dianne Given established Sarah Louise back in 1969 as a high-end clothing range for little girls and boys. Still going strong, this brand is perfect for special occasions such as Christenings and parties – their designs are certainly eye-catching along with the price. An exquisite pink party dress is priced at £70 whilst a Prince George-esque sailor romper suit will set you back £38 (currently out of stock – I wonder why?).
Perfect purchases from proud Grandmother or feeling-flush God Parent, these gorgeous threads get the Welly thumbs up despite the blow-out price…
