Welly Loves… Cumbria Family Business Awards 2017

Cumbria launches inaugural event for Family Businesses.

I am super excited about this great event which takes place at the Castle Green Hotel on Friday 10th March 2017.  For the first time ever, Cumbria will acknowledge our fantastic selection of family businesses working hard to make our county an economically successful and vibrant place to live and visit.  Family businesses are not corporates, each business is unique and gives back in many different ways.  They are the reason that Cumbria’s towns and villages don’t all have identical high streets showcasing the same old national and global brands.

Aside from our stunning landscapes, Cumbria is rich in heritage and produce which has created an array of new and exciting businesses whose commitment and drive to ‘local’ and ‘family’ brings together our communities and contributes to its economic success.

The Cumbria Family Business Awards is the brainchild of business women Sue Coulson, Sophia Newton and Janett Walker who wanted to create an opportunity to celebrate and continue incentivising the amazing number of family businesses in our county.

I am especially delighted to have been selected as one of the judges on the deciding panel and I cannot wait to start meeting, talking and testing out the many business applicants aspiring for these first-time fantastic awards under the guise of Cumbria’s brand new aspirational guide, Wellies & Wine.

To apply please download an application form here.

More than anything, the Cumbria Family Business Awards 2017 will be a fabulous social event – a true celebration of all that is family and Cumbrian… and if you needed any further incentive to apply then watch the official video below:
