Fyne Fish is an independent Fishmonger and seafood delicatessen located in the West Cumbrian market town of Cockermouth.
We Offer a wide selection of Fresh fish and seafood, from both local, national & International waters.
Fyne fish are one of the only outlets in Cumbria to offer freshly prepered sushi & sashimi. Made fresh on the premises each Friday and Saturday morning, box meals and platters are available on a pre-ordering system.
The business is owned and operated by Husband & Wife team John & Sharon Heron, who strive to ensure both the highest quality produce and the friendliest of welcomes.
Fyne fish offer a huge variety of fresh fish & seafood, caught as local as the Solway firth, or as far afield as the Maldives in the Indian Ocean. We get deliveries everyday to ensure that only the freshest produce is available for our customers.
All suppliers are MCS approved ensuring that our produce are caught in a sustainable manner from a sustainable environment.
As well as the commonly known fish, such as Cod, Haddock, Tuna, Salmon & prawns. Fyne fish like to offer our customers something that little bit special. Marlin, Snapper, shark, Monkfish, swordfish, Hake, Scallops, Razor clams, live lobsters, and Oysters are common place on our wet fish slab. Infact there can be up to 47 different varieties to choose from.
The Seafood deli counter offers a variety of ‘ready to eat’ fresh & marinated seafood options, sold in the quantity you desire. The choice is endless, ranging from Anchovies in oil, Oak smoked Salmon, chillis stuffed with tuna, ‘Amand’ luxury seafood terrines, our own Oak smoked salmon and smoked mackerel & horseradish pates, dressed crabs, roll mop herrings, and Solway brown shrimps. SUSHI & SASHIMI
Fyne fish are proud to be one of only 2 venues in Cumbria offering freshly made Sushi & sashimi.
It was a natural development of the business, as we already offered Sashimi grade Tuna as standard.
Sushi and Sashimi takeaway box meals and party platters are prepared by our own hands, onsite every Friday and Saturday, as well as special occassions such as Valentines day, Christmas eve and New Years eve.
The menu is re-freshed every 2-3 months, and a sushi special is available each week, encouraging those ‘a little shy’ to try somthing different !
Generally Sushi is simply thought of as ‘raw fish’. This is far from the case. Sushi is the rice component of the dish, and this rice can be combined with cooked fish, marinated or cured fish, raw fish, meat, vegetables, or fruit.
At Fyne fish we endeavour to meet all taste requirements and therefore we offer a Raw option, a cooked/marinated option or a mixed option.
A Vegetarian option is available upon request.
