Candlewyck is a luxury Bed and Breakfast situated in the southern heart of the English Lake District, set in its own 7 acres of land with views up the valley in glorious surroundings.
As the name may suggest, Candlewyck is a converted “Candle Wyck” factory situated in the historic, south Lakes town of Ulverston. Ulverston nestles between the Lake District National Park (Windermere and the Central Lake District only a 20 minute drive) and the Cumbrian Coast, so whatever you fancy doing there is always somewhere to go or something to see.
We aim to offer a relaxed and friendly service that is not too expensive. Above all we want you to feel at home so that you enjoy your stay in this beautiful country home.
We provide separate luxury accommodation in the barn (it is just like having your own private suite!) and the main house provides 2 king-sized bedrooms of some country house glamour. Both the barn and main house are loved by families, groups, single travellers, couples and all other visitors alike.
Comfortable garden furniture is provided for you to sit and relax in the afternoon and evening sunshine.
The barn even has its own private stream garden to take advantage of the views up the valley and across the 7 acres.
With views up the valley and the town centre (boasting 27 places to eat!) only a 5 minute walk away, Candlewyck provides the best of both worlds and makes the perfect place to stay for a luxury weekend, or if you like it you could spend the whole week!

Candlewyck also has its own small farm, the rare-breed pigs are often seen wandering the 7 acres (Sam likes to take them for a morning run) and provide seriously good homemade sausages and home cured bacon…
Guests often leave stocked up with our produce as they leave.
All our food is locally sourced, organic where possible, or straight from our farm.
