5 Mother’s Day Afternoon Teas

Go on, indulge yourself (and er, take your Mum too).

1. Linthwaite House, Windermere

You decide the decadence here with a choice of 4 price tiers from £21.50 upwards.  All their afternoon teas are described as ‘luxury’ but the cheapest excludes booze (ouch) and the most expensive at £29 per person includes a glass of champers… the decision is yours but Welly advice would be to go large or go home.

2. Daffodil Hotel, Grasmere

Described as “divine, delicious and delightful” the Daffodil Hotel cites their Pastry Chef, Sarah Howe as the talent behind their artistic and generous contemporary afternoon tea.  With the promise of leaving thoroughly stuffed and high as a kite on sugar, I’m definitely in.  There’s a choice of either the lighter £13.95 per person menu or £19.50 for the full shebang.  Word of warning: does not include booze so factor in your glass (or two) of fizz!
